..."a significant talent"... Adam Walton - Radio 1

Having performed her first public appearance just after her sixteenth birthday in July 2007, Polly Mackey has quickly gained a significant following.

NME describes her songs as “Wandering, heart strung, acoustic pop”… and Radio 1's Adam Walton describes her as “a significant talent”.

The quality of her song-writing has been acknowledged by industry professionals who have voted her into the finals of the 2008 MIBI song-writing awards.

Her live solo acoustic performances have been in demand by top venues and promoters during 2008 including:  Soho Revue Bar, FYM FYG Club, The Bullet Bar, The Cobden Club and The Old Blue Last in London and Carling Academy, The Cavern Club, Korova and 3345 Parr Street in Liverpool.

Polly was one of the few unsigned artists invited to appear at the Liverpool Sound City Festival in May 2008 and she follows this success with an invitation to play two separate gigs at the MTV Liverpool Music Week festival in November.

Although committed to continuing her solo acoustic performances, Polly is currently in rehearsals with a newly-formed band and is looking forward to their debut public appearance supporting Dananananaykroyd at Wrexham’s Central Station venue in November.

Polly and the band then go into the studio to record a session for Radio 1’s Adam Walton who has been a keen follower since giving airtime to Polly’s first composition – 18 Hours – in summer 2007.
