EXPERIENCE - DAZED & CONFUSED MAGAZINE / Covering Assistant Editor (March - May 2011)My role within the editorial team included writing articles, intros and press releases, conducting interviews, looking after the budget, proof-reading, fact-checking and any ad-hoc task the editor required. Due to the immediacy of the position I had to adapt quickly and 'learn the ropes' as to how the magazine functions in terms of system, including the digital, promotional and advertorial relationships. - MUSIC INDUSTRY / Musician / DJ / Events / Promoter (2007 - present)I have gained a lot of knowledge during the past three years touring in unsigned bands, building up a wealth of valuable contacts and experience that can be of value within the industry. From playing on stages at SXSW '09 + '10 and alongside Franz Ferdinand, Kings Of Leon and Oasis at Benicassim FIB Festival, to putting on my own events in Liverpool and the Alternative Escape, booking acts such as Gloria Cycles and Doll & The Kicks; and DJing alongside S.C.U.M, The Neat, Hatcham Social, Clout! etc. Making friends along the way with festival planners, booking agencies, arts and PR firms, photographers, producers etc. These experiences at a young age allowed me to develop invaluable skills; I am now a confident public speaker, very much a ‘people person’ and quite adept at running small online promotional marketing campaigns – a skill I hope to embellish. - THE LINE OF BEST FIT / Contributing Writer (January - present)Shortlisted for the second time at the industry standard ‘Record Of The Day Awards’ for Best Online Magazine I have interviewed artists such as Brother, Crocodiles, Mechanical Bride; reviewed albums and provided the official guide to SXSW 2011.- THE GREAT ESCAPE FESTIVAL / Conference Liason Assistant (May 2011)INTERESTS Aside from music, I have a love of photography, I am passionate for literature - my favourite authors include Plath, Kerouac, Nabakov, and Hunter S. Thompson. I have always had an appreciation for art - my favourite artist is Peter Blake - and I have a keen interest in fashion.
